When people come together, great things happen.
Neon Marketplace is about enabling businesses, creatives and artists to connect and collaborate to create vibrant, inclusive and sustainable places and communities across NSW.
It is designed to provide more opportunities for collaborations, activations and initiatives in local business communities - all in one place.
NSW is made up of many vibrant coordinated Districts. Districts are local business communities that combine their unique stories and diverse cultural and entertainment offerings across multiple businesses to contribute to the overall growth of their District and ultimately a thriving going-out economy.
There are currently 27 Districts now showcasing here on Neon Marketplace, with more Districts coming soon. Each District has something unique to offer so it’s worth discovering and getting to know each one.
The Districts showcased on Neon Marketplace are those that were funded through the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner's Uptown District Acceleration Program, which is currently in its third round.
The number of Districts is growing across NSW, with new Districts being activated through the Uptown Accelerator beyond Greater Sydney including areas across Greater Newcastle, Central Coast, Wollongong and the Illawarra Shoalhaven region.
Neon Marketplace will keep growing as more Districts are added to this exciting, interconnected network of vibrant going-out destinations across NSW.
Opportunities are at the heart of Neon Marketplace. Here you can explore the many opportunities across the Districts from exciting events and activations to place-based collaborations and initiatives.
Districts might be looking for musicians and DJs to appear on a summer activation program, or a mural artist to create incredible artworks across the District. Or an event producer for an upcoming local festival, or a pyrotechnician to deliver a District's New Year's Eve entertainment.
Local businesses might be looking for a video content editor to produce scroll-stopping social media, or a vacant premise to be used as a multi-functional storage and retail space.
Local Councils and government agencies might list opportunities to apply for funding programs to support businesses or listing an Expression of Interest for Districts and local businesses to get involved with a major event.
Commercial brands might be looking for ways to reach specific audiences in Districts across NSW to activate or build fan bases.
