YCK Laneways partners with WOOM to provide essential products in Sydney venues
Situated at the core of Australia’s first Purple Flag District, YCK Laneways is home to some of Sydney’s most prominent bars, restaurants and clubs including The Duke of Clarence, Esteban, Jolene's and more.
Here, between Sydney’s Town Hall and Wynyard Station, YCK’s District Coordinator, Karl Schlothauer, began discussions with WOOM.
WOOM is a subscription-based period care product service that delivers essential products to workspaces monthly to meet staff needs.
Through the District model, Karl was able to distribute WOOM products throughout 14 bars within YCK, ensuring that female patrons and staff have convenient access to menstrual care products while enjoying the vibrant local venues.
Schlothauer describes the WOOM and YCK collaboration as an "experience extender"—enhancing the patron experience while meeting a practical need. The benefits were clear: WOOM gained promotion, businesses were viewed as more accommodating to women’s needs, and patrons had access to essential care products, enriching their overall night out.
Reflecting on the initiative, Schlothauer noted that some patrons were so satisfied with the service that they left Google reviews to express their gratitude.
In the end, this collaboration serves as an example of how small but meaningful partnerships can improve both business environments and customer experiences in urban Districts like YCK.
