Have your say in our community consultation sessions in development of our map and precinct identities
Newtown Enmore Precinct
As a newly formed District we are committed to working alongside all facets of our diverse, and vibrant local community to revitalise the Newtown Enmore Precinct. We want to increase a sense of community pride and resilience, increase public safety, activate place, support a 24 economy, support artists, increase employment opportunities, and create sustainable, innovative, and robust economic growth.
Accessible and inclusive maps will ensure people can navigate the area easily; improving the appeal of the precincts to tourists, boosting the local economy, and contributing to the already vibrant social fabric.
A map that allows people to navigate to vital services is a public safety priority. It is evident that the re-location of the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre has put people experiencing crisis at increased risk, as they have not been able to find it. Having an accurate map to this and other vital services, safe spaces and businesses is essential.
The maps will be displayed throughout the Newtown, Enmore and Erskineville precincts and will be available on the NEBC and other websites. The map will be a live document and regularly be updated. Some paper copies will be available for those who do not have access to devices or are not 'tech savvy'.
This Project is an initiative funded by the City of Sydney and co-supported by Inner West Council.
The map will be available June 2025.
