Handy with Scissors is the creative vision of Artist and Creative Producer, Susie Rugg. What began as a small platform dedicated to sharing sustainable art ideas with families and young people has blossomed into a vibrant, multifaceted hub for creativity and community engagement. Today, Handy with Scissors is a one-stop shop for innovative art experiences, celebrating artistic expression and environmental consciousness.
Driven by a passion for community and sustainability, Susie collaborates with an eclectic and talented team of artists, designers, prop makers, videographers, and professional consultants. Together, they bring a wide range of creative projects to life, from intimate workshops to large-scale festivals, pop up activations, artist interventions and special events for all ages and abilities.
Susie is also known for offering a diverse selection of hands-on art and craft workshops, catering to both children and adults. These workshops are designed to be accessible, engaging, and adaptable, making them suitable for both large scale festivals and events as well as smaller, more intimate venues.
Handy with Scissors also offers Kids Makers Markets and the innovative, hands-on adventure playground experience, The Big Build. These large-scale community projects are ideal for arts centers, councils, and festivals, providing interactive and engaging experiences that celebrate the boundless creativity and resourcefulness of young people. Designed to inspire imagination and foster collaboration, these initiatives highlight the transformative power of play, empowering children to build, create, and showcase their unique ideas.
