We acknowledge that this land area traditionally belonged to the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Sydney Basin.
The Newtown Enmore Precinct, defined by the iconic high streets of King Street and Enmore Road, is a vibrant microcosm of Sydney’s diversity. For generations, it has stood as a haven where communities from all walks of life — including successive waves of migrants, urban First Nations peoples, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of all religious and political beliefs — have found a sense of belonging.
What sets Newtown and Enmore apart from other centres in Sydney is its distinctly different character — a character that draws diverse communities from across the Inner West and Greater Sydney. This diversity enriches the social and cultural fabric of the precinct, making it a vital contributor to Sydney’s identity.
Some of our venues: Rising Sun Workshop, Young Henry's, Odd Culture, Spon, The Duke, Pleasure Club, Bistro Grenier, The Social Outfit, Tokyo Lamington, All buttons Great and Small, The Bank Hotel, Mary's, Little Lagos, The Enmore Theatre, The Vanguard, Continental Deli, The New Theatre and many more.
