A creative and cultural precinct in Newcastle, offering a home to collaborative makers and evolving with each new artist who joins and shares their practice.
Housed in repurposed industrial sheds, it is home to some of the most loved household names such as The Creator Incubator, Upcycle, Featheredge, OzHarvest & more.
It's a huge 35,000 sqm collaborative makers space drenched in Novocastrian history, where a genuine sense of community can be found among the creators of the city's vibrant arts scene.
The story of Clyde Street Arts dates back to 1937, when 50 Clyde Street was purchased by the Newcastle and Suburban Co-operative Society Ltd, known locally as "The Store." For decades, the site was a bustling community centre, offering everything from groceries and furniture to welfare programs and entertainment.
After closing in 1987, the site lay dormant until 2017, when it was revitalized by a new generation of creative professionals. Now, the precinct houses over 80 artists and creatives, breathing new life into the historic site and forging a deep sense of community.
Clyde Street Arts has become a cultural landmark in Newcastle, blending history with modern innovation and giving back to the community in a unique and meaningful way.
There are long-term leases available for creative studios as well as short-term hires for rehearsal or regular classes.
Hourly, half-day and full day available for film shoots and small to medium sized event facilities for local or out of area groups.
